Watch: A 49ers fan falls from the stands while trying to catch Brock Purdy’s towel, injuring fans below

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 38-13 last night at Levi’s Stadium thanks to QB Brock Purdy’s three touchdowns. But the 49ers fans didn’t stop there to chat.

Brock Purdy again completed three touchdowns and extended his record to six straight games. With his screeching rush into the Cardinals’ defensive heart, the 49ers earned another dominant win. They gave themselves absolutely no space throughout the game. Purdy’s brilliance infuriated fans after the game as he walked past them.

What actually happened at Levi’s Stadium?

With a sweet, undisputed triumph, Purdy, 23, returned to the dressing room next to the stands near the tunnel. The fans cheered and appreciated the youngster’s performance and he threw his towel to the right side of the tunnel as a token of gratitude. A 49ers fan celebrated the award and created fun footage.

The fan was so determined to catch the towel that he jumped high over the grandstand railing and fell hard to the ground. By doing so, he put himself and others at risk. He put his weight on a fan right next to him in that grandstand to jump and he nearly fell over another fan’s head.

Ultimately, however, he managed to keep the coveted prize, which was well worth all his efforts.

Brock was drafted by San Francisco as the last pick, making him Mr. Irrelevant. In the absence of his top two picks, he started for the 49ers. Mr. Irrelevant has since become relevant and is having a dream season for a rookie. He has completed 66% of his passes for 1,196 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

The 49ers had already won the NFC West division title and became the second seed in the playoffs after a 10-game winning streak. Their fantastic season is largely aided by their rookie quarterback.
