A soldier gives out tons of XP.

Like a Hans Zimmer soundtrack, the latest Call of Duty: Warzone A glitch (or exploit if you ask me) is about spamming the same tactic over and over again and potentially reaping rewards with no end in sight. All you need is a revive gun and a willingness to be obnoxious – a tall order, I’m sure call of Duty Player.

Revive pistols are new to call of Duty. A concept that shooters like to be familiar with Rainbow Six: Siegewith the gun you can shoot someone to revive them when they are in a revivalable, dejected state. in the call of Duty You can now find such pistols lying around the map or purchased at a Buy Station for as little as $2400. While players typically use this weapon on fallen comrades who are just out of range, the game doesn’t seem to discriminate when it comes to who you shoot it at. Even plugging an enemy with a revive dart will put them back into play. And that’s where the exploit comes in: you can, it seems, just corner a downed enemy, revive them, shoot them, revive them, shoot them, revive them – okay, you get the gist. Stock up on revival pistol ammo at a nearby purchase station, and the only limit is how much cash you have on hand.

As discovered by PCGamesN, war zone Streamer GUARD Issac tweeted a video demonstrating the exploit. With the enthusiasm of a schoolyard bully pinning someone and saying, “Stop hitting yourself!” He repeatedly takes down and revives an enemy. And the XP keeps piling up like he’s just swallowed it for the first time – only stopping when he seems to have had enough of the torture.

kotaku has reached out to Activision for comment.

Reactions to this display of gaming system exploitation range from people laughing at the absurdity to the requisite “He’s already dead”. Simpsons meme and comment on how cheap and silly it is. “In the future,” reads a reply from a This opinion is: “Games will not have goals, it will just be an empty space where people will berate each other.”

call of Duty has already seen a number of patches to mitigate unintended means of farming XP. Whether this exploit falls into that category remains to be seen. $2400 is pretty trivial to earn in one match. Still, I hope they don’t destroy the ability to revive downed enemies. That kind of thing allows the game to have its own simulation layer and internal logic, which I think makes for interesting, unexpected events. For example, in Soli, I could easily see how to remotely revive a downed enemy to wreak havoc on other enemies. While it’s fun to be cheeky and silly, this type of exploit arguably ventures into, dare I say, unsportsmanlike behavior. Two minutes in the penalty area for you.
