Warriors use the franchise legend to introduce throwback jerseys perfectly

The Golden State Warriors team up with Bay Area legend Chris Mullin to bring back some magic from basketball’s golden age to the current Warriors dynasty.
It’s hard not to get a little nostalgic about basketball in the ’80s and ’90s, especially when warrior Fan.
There’s a lot to celebrate about the modern era – Golden State is in a golden age as they enjoy their fourth championship in seven years – but the Chris Mullin era is still one for the books.
In the late ’80s and early ’90s, Mullin terrorized the league as part of Run TMC, the top-scoring trio of the 1990-91 NBA season. The 1985 No. 7 draft pick retired his #17 jersey with the Warriors, but the Dubs still found a way to bring back the Mullin-era jersey.
In the nostalgic hype video, Mullin receives a call from Raymond Ridder, the SVP of Communications for the Warriors.
“This is amazing news…let’s rewind it.” says Mullin on the call.
“Man, I still have it,” says Mullin, before donning a vintage Warriors jersey and completing the outfit with the iconic Run DMC look.

The team, founded in Philadelphia in 1946, won the first BAA championship in 1947 and again in 1956. Back then, the team was led by its own highly acclaimed trio of Hall of Famers Paul Arizin, Tom Gola and Neil Johnston. After losing Wilt Chamberlain in 1965, the Warriors rose again to championship glory in 1975 with Rick Barry and Jamaal Wilkes at the helm.
That led up to the Chris Mullin era. While the team wasn’t spectacular for the most part in the 1980s, Mullin and the Run TMC crew regularly carried the team to the playoffs. Although Mullin never won an NBA championship, he was a five-time NBA All-Star, made a 1992 All-NBA First Team, and a 1992 Legendary Olympic Dream Team.
The turn of the decade wasn’t just a time for MJ — it was a time for TMC that Dubs fans can remember now, with their 2022 contemporary championship roster leading the way.
