Warriors’ Stephen Curry plays Nuggets in Game 1

Warriors star Stephen Curry will play Game 1 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, head coach Steve Kerr said hours before the game was tip. Curry has been out since March 16 with a sprained ligament in his left foot.

On Tuesday, the Warriors said Curry had returned to some on-court activity and could return to full-team practices this week – but his status for this weekend is undecided. Speaking on teammate Draymond Green’s The Volume podcast Thursday, Curry said he was “very optimistic” he could play in Game 1.

Curry, 34, averaged 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 64 regular-season games.
