Warriors’ Stephen Curry is about to hit a 3-point NBA career record after winning 5-15 against the Pacers

Golden Empire Warriors star Stephen the curry complete with five 3-pointers on Monday 102-100 wins via Indiana Pacers, putting him on the threshold of the NBA’s all-time record that he will now look to break Tuesday night on the league’s biggest stage – Madison Square Garden.

Curry won 5-15 from the arc against the Pacers, giving him 2,972 3s for his career – one behind Ray Allen (2,973) and two as the only record holder.

A crowd selling tickets is almost less interested in the outcome of a match than in viewing history. The crowd roared every time Curry lined up 3, gasping as he drove to the basket and exploding every time he inched closer to the record. For the final 90 seconds, everyone inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse was on their feet.

Curry’s final game 3 beat the Warriors in round 100-98 and he equalized as he drove the layup with 48.5 seconds remaining. Kevon LooneyA putback with 13.8 seconds left broke the game and then Indiana turned the game around.

Clearly, Curry and his teammates are pressing for a record – and the Pacers’ defense wants to push the Warriors out of the 3-point line at every chance possible. The result: Golden State missed the first seven shots from outside the arc before Curry finally ended the streak 12-0 giving the Warriors a 39-36 lead midway through the second half.

It didn’t last long in this back-and-forth game, in which Indiana led most of the way.

But Curry started to heat up in the third inning with his fourth 3 games of the night to give Golden State a 79-78 lead. Indiana responded by ending the half with a 7-2 scoreline and an 84-80 lead. The Pacers led the entire quarter – until Curry was flustered and followed by Looney’s decisive volley.

Curry finished the night with 26 points and also had six rebounds and six assists.
