The Golden State Warriors won the Western Conference Finals in five games Thursday night against the Mavericks. Fans let Charles Barkley hear it.
Barkley had a feud with Golden State basketball fans that series that began before Game 1 when he picked the Mavs to win the series.
That only reinforced later in the series when Barkley clarified that he hates visiting San Francisco. Fortunately, a five-game streak is relatively short, and TNT doesn’t broadcast the NBA Finals. So his season is over!
When asked why he hates San Francisco so much, Barkley made it clear that he has nothing against this Warriors team.
“Oh, I can buy those (Warriors),” he said Barkley to Ryen Russillo before Game 2. “I hate their fans. But we have a lot of give and take and that doesn’t bother me. You, you know, you know, Ry? As long as people respond to your opinion, you’re doing what you’re supposed to do on TV.”
Warriors fans take revenge on Charles Barkley
Outside the Chase Center in San Francisco, dubs fans let Barkley be heard, and even through trash and shorts, after the game.
Shaq probably didn’t help.
Inside the NBA is the best NBA pregame show running, due in part to the professionalism, or lack thereof, between the four panelists. As much as Barkley taunted dubs fans throughout the series, it all ended up being an act.
And Barkley took his medicine.
