Warner Bros. upset after Amber Heard missing from ‘Aquaman 2’ trailer

Amber Heard is in the latest trailer for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom“And the fans aren’t having it!
Heard’s future in the DC Universe is uncertain following her explosive legal battle with her ex-husband Johnny Deppas her connections in Hollywood dwindle.
But despite DC Universe execs’ claims that Heard’s role as Queen Mera hasn’t been “reduced” due to the negative attention of the trial, the latest trailer appears to be the opposite.
Amber Heard is completely missing from trailer 2 of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”.
On Monday, Warner Bros. released a new trailer in anticipation of the hit superhero film, which hits theaters on December 22nd.
The 1 minute and 30 second clip began with Jason MomoaAquaman speaks to his son and promises him a great future in which they would make full use of their special abilities. However, the fairy tale soon collapses when the villain Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul Mateen IIHe comes to take revenge.
“I will kill Aquaman and everything he holds dear… Even if it means making a deal with the devil to do it,” Black Manta declares before they get started, with the fate of Aquaman’s son hanging in the balance Game stands.
Aside from Momoa and Abdul-Mateen getting plenty of screen time in the trailer, fans get to see a lot of Nicole Kidman, who returns as Atlanna, Arthur’s mother and former Queen of Atlantis. However, Heard’s Queen Mera is conveniently missing from all of this.
Heard’s complete absence is very reminiscent of the first “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” released in September, where she made a fleeting appearance toward the end. While her lack of appearance in the trailer suggests that the 37-year-old may not make a major appearance in the actual film, director James Wan denied that this was intentional.
When speaking with Weekly entertainmentWan said he always intended the focus of the second film to be on the relationship between Arthur and Orm, rather than between Arthur and Mera, as was the case in the first part.
“I told everyone about it from the beginning. The first Aquaman was the journey of Arthur and Mera. The second film was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So the first one was a romance action adventure film, the second one was a bromance action adventure film. We’ll leave it at that.”

Fans condemn Warner Bros. and DC Universe for excluding Amber Heard
Despite Wan’s explanation, fans were unconvinced and took to social media to condemn Warner Bros. and DC for misogyny and injustice.
One angry fan wrote: “Warner Bros releases The Flash despite all the Ezra Miller controversy, but cuts Amber HEar Out of Aquaman 2 is very scary and strange.”
Another similar comment read: “Focusing the film on rescuing Arthur Jr. is absolutely ridiculous, and his mother seems to have minimal involvement in it. You let Ezra Miller have her movie, Rihanna had Johnny Depp in her fashion show, and Loki still had majors. But you all draw a line Amber HeardOh, alright.”
Another netizen shared: “cut out Mera/Amber Heard is crazy… I’m glad the DCEU is washed because the whole thing feels cheesy and kills any excitement left. Bury that with this film.
A similar comment read: “If Aquaman turns out to be successful, they say it’s because the promotion didn’t have an Amber And when it flops, they blame her, it’s a game of losers.” This user joked: “Is Aquaman a single father now? LMFAO. Do they just want to pretend? Amber Heard isn’t Mera playing?”
This fan explained: “The Mera deletion is bizarre. Not just because of the plot, but because they actively pissed off so many people who only wanted to watch it to support it Amber Heard. Those co-abusing them online won’t see it anyway, why market it to them? #OnlyForMera #Aquaman.“
Heard’s absence from the trailer comes a month after explosive court documents from the libel trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard shed light on an alleged “hostile” environment on the set of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”

As we reported, the “Zombieland” actress reportedly told her therapist that her co-star Momoa was often drunk and dressed like an idiot on set. He is also said to have pushed for her to be excluded from the role of Mera.
“Jason said he wanted me fired,” the notes say. “Jason is drunk – late on set. Dress like Johnny. Also has all the rings.” The notes also claimed that Director Wan often treated her poorly because of the high-profile battle. “He raised his voice at me – ‘I can’t even post anything about Aquaman’ – and acted like it was my fault – I said ‘I’m sorry.’ Nobody could take selfies with me on set when the power went out.” Heard said of Wan in her therapy notes.
The climax of the shocking allegations was that Heard was almost fired from the role, but her former boyfriend Elon Musk reportedly intervened and threatened to “burn the house down” if she didn’t return for the sequel.
While they appear to have complied with Musk’s request, only time will tell how much Heard’s role will play out in the new sequel.
