Warm temperatures may help create severe storm – CBS Baltimore


BALTIMORE (WJZ) — After nearing a record high in Baltimore on Saturday, temperatures will be hot again on Sunday — but not quite as high.
Afternoon highs will reach around 90 degrees with increasing cloudiness through the afternoon.

A cold front will approach the area from the west during the day, increasing the likelihood of a storm or two later in the afternoon and evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has a low risk of one or two isolated severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening.
Gusty winds and a risk of hail may accompany the storms, but coverage looks widespread to isolated.

Cooler weather is returning to start next week with some persistent showers on Monday.
Expect highs around 70 Monday through Wednesday and lows around the 50s.
Warmer weather will return later in the week along with a chance of some storms on Thursday and Friday.
