RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) – Sources have confirmed to WJZ that a Walmart employee was shot in the chest as he was commuting to work and going to his car around 7pm on Monday.

Corbin confirmed the victim was shot in the 8700 block of Liberty Street but did not confirm the Walmart parking lot.
WJZ has reached out to a Walmart spokesperson, who says this is a police matter.
Baltimore County police said they are now looking into the surveillance cameras as part of their investigation.
“BILLIONThe hat is evidence that will be reviewed by detectives and our violent crime unit who will handle the case,” added Corbin.
This comes as Baltimore County has seen an alarming increase in violent crime recently. But it still comes as a shock to frequent shoppers like Allison Janney, who called the incident “a bit disturbing.”
“I came here on my lunch break because they have the Metro inside with a colleague and it was no problem,” she said.

While Janney feels safe at this store, she’s not in all parts of Randallstown.
“A little further down the freeway to the Beltway, I stay away from that,” says Janney.
But Rhonda, who grew up in the neighborhood and frequents Walmart, said the area isn’t what it used to be.
“I hadn’t heard of crime at this particular store but I wasn’t completely surprised,” she said. With news of the shooting, she said she would be a little more cautious.
But Janney will continue to shop at Walmart on Liberty Street.
“Being here won’t scare me,” she said. “I mean if it’s a thing that’s definitely happening but it hasn’t happened in a long time around here, so.”
Police say the shooting victim is in stable condition. Investigators are looking for any information regarding the suspect.
