After his contract with the Baltimore Ravens was cancelled, passer Za’Darius Smith will stay at NFC North after signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
It sucks for Green Bay Packers fans when they’re starring Za’Darius Smith agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Raven, but now things have somehow gotten worse. That’s because in the end Smith stayed on the team.
After everything happened to Baltimore, Smith is now joining the Vikings. According to Tom Pelissero, Smith and Minnesota agreed to a three-year, $42 million deal.
Za’Darius Smith is getting a big deal from Minnesota Vikings
Smith has received a lot of attention in freelance company, and this is not a strong move. Not only did they add a monster to the trenches, but their stealing Smith from the Packers just made things better.
Now starting next season, Smith will seek revenge against his former team, which of course will include putting heavy pressure on Aaron Rodgers whenever the two teams go head-to-head.
Smith missed much of the 2021 campaign due to a back injury, but he is the dominant force when healthy. He is a Pro Bowler in 2019 and 2020 after posting 13.5 bags and 12.5 bags respectively. Smith had high expectations last season, but his season was cut short due to his injury. It’s a bummer to see.
Now, however, Smith is ready to hit the field and perform again. This time, he will do the same for the Vikings instead of the packers. It will take some time for residents of Green Bay to get used to, but Minnesotans couldn’t be more excited for the signing.
