Video shows dangerous behavior by cyclists and cars in Fort Lauderdale – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. (WSVN) – Cyclists have been hit on the streets of Fort Lauderdale after drivers accused them of throwing bricks at their cars.

Fort Lauderdale Police Department investigators are investigating the rowdy behavior. Apparently this happened around the 2700 to 3000 block of North Ocean Drive.

“There’s a lot going on here and getting to the bottom of what happened is a priority for us and that’s why we need the public’s help,” Fort Lauderdale Police Officer Ali Adamson said.

According to detectives, on Saturday they received tons of calls from people complaining of brawls, people throwing bricks at cars and a car hitting a cyclist. It is unclear whether all of this is related.

“We couldn’t pinpoint exactly what happened out there. We didn’t find the car. We have not located any victims, but we are aware that something happened,” Adamson said.

A witness shared with 7News video that appears to show bricks on the road, a man walking with blood on his chest, a group of cyclists at an intersection, and a car swerving and hitting a cyclist.

When investigators arrived over the weekend, they found no evidence or victims of vandalism.

Detectives told 7News it’s important that any witness or who has video of what happened this weekend pass that video on to them in order to investigate this case.

“We’re really trying to figure out what exactly happened that day. We need the public’s help to be able to do that,” Adamson said.

7News spoke to the man in the pink t-shirt who appeared in the video and appeared to have been hit by a car. He said he wasn’t part of the group people were complaining about.

The incident is being investigated.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the authorities.
