Victims identified in deadly East Oakland fight – CBS San Francisco

OAKLAND (BCN) – A victim who died after a violent crash last week in East Oakland was identified Friday, according to authorities.
Police and the Alameda County coroner’s office identified the victim as Demarco Vierra, 31, of San Leandro.

Vierra was hit by a vehicle into the 6100 block of Bancroft Avenue before officers were dispatched there at 8pm on January 21.
When the officers arrived, they learned that Vierra was crossing Bancroft Avenue from south to north in the middle of the block.

A black four-door hatchback traveling east on Bancroft Avenue crashed into him. Vierra suffered a head injury and is in critical condition following the collision. He was taken to the hospital where he died on Monday.
The driver of the hatchback continued to drive after the collision. As of Friday morning, police had not said whether they had located the hatchback, identified the driver, or made an arrest.
Police are investigating the crash and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Police Department’s traffic investigation unit at (510) 777-8570.
