Vaughn Grissom’s comments will have Braves fans building a statue

Standout Braves rookie Vaughn Grissom gives fans a reason to love him beyond his top-flight game by taking a shot at the Mets.
Vaughn Grissom is on a tear with that brave this year and made good his 11th-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.
If Atlanta hadn’t made that choice, he might very well be wearing one meads now uniform.
Luckily for Braves fans and Grissom himself, that didn’t happen.
Vaughn Grissom said it would have been “terrible” to be drafted by Mets over Braves.
Grissom, who grew up in Florida, is especially happy to be dating Atlanta because he definitely didn’t want to be in New York. And that’s a sentiment that should give Braves fans an even better feel for their rookie star.
“I thought I was going to be a mead, which would have been awful,” Grissom said according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
It sure would have been awful for the Braves. They already have their hands full this year in trying to close the gap with the Mets at the top of the NL East.
Grissom was called up in the second week of August and has boosted Atlanta with 13 wins in his 15 appearances. He hits .382/.424/.600 with an OPS of 1.024.
If he ran those numbers with the Mets, the race for the NL East could look very different.
As it stands, New York came into Thursday with a 1.5 game lead after being defeated by the Yankees. The Braves have won each of their series since they were humiliated in a five-game series by the Mets earlier this month.
