Valheim Teases Ashland’s Biome, Hildir’s Camp, and “Fortress Time”

The early access launch of the survival sandbox is still very popular Walheim Iron Gate Studios is back on Xbox earlier this month with a dev blog teasing – and we mean just teasing – the upcoming Ashlands zones.

“While work is already underway on some graphical elements, we’re also completing the Ashlands biome gameplay loop,” the team writes, dropping a few images that we’ll tuck below. “You’re already used to delving into dungeons, but this time we’re testing the concept of ‘fortress time!’ Exactly what that will mean, well… you can probably guess!”

“On the subject of the Hildir’s Quest update, we thought we’d share some more details about Hildir herself. She has a few things in common with her brother Haldor, such as you can find her where she stopped with her wagon and lox. But why does their warehouse look so empty? However, Hildir’s camp is not the only new location that will be included in this update. Particularly helpful Vikings – or very lucky explorers – will be able to find a few other new and mysterious locations scattered around the world. We’ll let you find out for yourself what mysteries they hold, but we advise you to prepare before you head out!”

The studio also notes that other quality-of-life improvements are being made, including manual snap-toggling and stack dragging.

Walheim has been in Early Access on Steam for over two years; It’s currently on sale as part of Steam’s Spring Event.
