Virginia nearly bounced back from double digits to a home win over Iowa earlier this week, but failed. They must, however, continue towards a rare ACC game in early December on Friday night against Pittsburgh.

The Panthers are having a hard time starting the new year with a string of injuries and suspensions, placing them outside of KenPom’s top 200. Pitt is 2-5 for the year and is lined up for another uphill road, but can they get past the spreading number two?

Pittsburgh vs. Odds and Predictions. Virginia

The total is humorously low, but it makes sense to each of the bottom 50 teams in terms of adjusted pacing. I tried to see how Pitt scored against Tony Bennett’s curvilinear defense, eliminating shots at the belt.

The Panthers are shooting under 27% from outside the arc, which makes it difficult against a Virginia defense that plays an inside role and allows teams to shoot 44% on a two-point shot. On top of that, Pitt is 324th in terms of revenue percentage this season. I can’t envision many useful properties for them down the road.

On the other hand, can UVA rays pull away? Methodically attacking of course but I believe they will be able to get what they want against a Pitt defense that doesn’t flip the ball (333rd in rotation rate) and defends the perimeter (271th). on the opponent’s three-point ratio).

I rely on UVA rays covering this spread simply because of Pitt’s struggles at this stage of the season.
