The 75th meeting between the United States and Mexico will see the two teams face off in Arizona on Wednesday, with rosters based primarily on their domestic leagues. With the game not taking place during a standard FIFA international break, Anthony Hudson and Diego Cocca were only able to muster limited players for this Continental Clasico as teams are not required to sack any players.

Hudson was able to bring Sergino Dest into the game despite AC Milan having midweek commitments in the Champions League as he was not registered for the competition, but it shows once again that Dest is not up to par in Italy. For him, games with the USMNT are showcase fights and bring out the best in his game.

Cocca also has his own European reputation and is a defender for Dest’s parent club Barcelona. Julian Araujo is a player who has been closely monitored by the USMNT but after signing for Mexico and moving to Barcelona on deadline day, he is yet to appear for the club.

Here are our stories, how to watch the game and more:

United States: There have been some changes in the roster, Cristian Roldan and Paul Arriola have been withdrawn and replaced by FC Dallas’ Paxton Pomykal who has plenty to gain as he was in the national team but didn’t get promoted to the regular rotation. As a midfielder who can dictate play, there are games the USMNT can use him in but he needs to show he’s ready for the call.

Mexico: All eyes are on Henry Martin. With El Tri looking for a forward, the Club America forward has lit up Liga MX and has a superb opportunity to show his 26 goals in 36 games can translate to the national side. Cocca finds out who to trust in the pool and Martin has an early chance to put himself in his coach’s favor.

In a game where players have traveled from everywhere at short notice, it will be difficult to find a rhythm as the USMNT works towards a tough tie in Arizona. Choose: USMNT 0, Mexico 0
