USA Cricket Announce Dates, Squad and Venue for Women’s Regional Series » FirstSportz

Following the conclusion of the 2022 intra-regional competition, which has been played over the past 5 weeks, USA Cricket is pleased to announce the four 14-player regional teams from the East, Central, Southwest and West regions who will compete in the Sistar Mortgage Regional Series for women 2022.
The US Cricket Women’s Selection Panel selected these 56 players based on their attitude, fitness, ability and performance, and they will now represent their regional teams and compete for spots in the 2022 Sistar Mortgage Women’s National Championship.
Following the Regionals, the East and West teams will be selected to compete in the US Senior Men’s National Championship, also taking place August 1-3 at Moosa Stadium, Texas.
All the players from the successful US women’s U19 campaign at the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars T20 Championship in Trinidad are involved in the four regional teams as the national teams support the youth and look forward to an exciting year for women’s cricket with the ICC T20 World Cup facing Global Qualifier scheduled for September.
USA Cricket Women & Girls Coordinator Julie Abbott commented, “We are excited to bring the Regionals together at Moosa Stadium at the same time for a great week of cricket action for the best women and girls in the United States. The Sistar Mortgage Women’s Regionals will feature competitive matches between top players across the US representing their geographic regions, adding an extra level of intensity and competition to all matches. We look forward to promoting the best players to the Nationals for new head coach Shivnarine Chanderpaul to work with the team leading into the ICC T20 World Cup Global Qualifier scheduled for September.”
