The men’s Olympic hockey tournament has officially kicked off in China. The Russian Olympic Committee started things off with a 1–0 win over Switzerland, followed by Denmark with a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic.
The hosts will begin their tournament on Thursday night (Thursday morning for us in North America) when they face the United States. Puck drop is set at 8:10 a.m. EST.
As you might have guessed, the Americans are still considered strong contenders in this matchup, despite not having any NHL players on the list. Check out the odds for the game, with the help of WynnBET.
USA is favorites -10000, which means you have to bet $10,000 just to win $100 on a US win. I obviously wouldn’t recommend doing that, so you should look at the -2.5 puck line at -140 (bet $140 to win $100).
I won’t pretend that I know the details of the Chinese hockey team, in fact, this is their first year in the Men’s Hockey League. ESPN is broken their uncanny path to the Olympics, which included recruiting fringe professionals towards the end of their careers.
There is no doubt in my mind that USA will beat this team from start to finish. -140 on line -2.5 puck is extremely generous.
Select: USA -2.5 (-140)
