Update on Olivia from Farmer Wants a Wife: “New Chapter Closed”
She fascinated Australia when she found love with Matt Farmer is looking for a wife — and now Olivia Benic has shared her first social media update since the show’s reunion episode.
Taking to Instagram, Olivia shared that it’s “time to think and write” “after a new chapter is closed.”
“First of all… wow (haha),” the reality star shared on Tuesday.

“Secondly, a big thank you to the amazing people I met along the way.
“Not just producers, runners and crew…but also the companies and hotels that had amazing staff taking care of a group of women who were lugging around suitcases with the signature Akubra.”
Olivia also acknowledged the bravery of her fellow contestants on the dating show, pointing out that despite some changes made, each woman’s kindness “shone through.”
“It’s important for me to recognize how brave and intelligent all of these women are,” Olivia said.
“Some of us suffered a funny cut here and there…my favorite is my knife scene (everything’s fine, Matt childproofed the knife drawer (haha)).
“However, there were always elements of intelligence, kindness and courage in all of them.”
She said she will be forever grateful for the moments we shared with “Chelsea, Annabelle, Lorelei, Alice, Jenna, Courtney, Georgia, Maddison, Maddy, Morgan, Victoria, Greg, Vik and so many others.”
“A special thanks to Will for allowing me to lug his guitar around and sing to the cows as I planned my ‘fake escapes’ to the end of the driveway and of course back,” she said.
“Thank you also to everyone who gave kind words and support.”
It was the first time Olivia had taken to Instagram since she surprised host Sam Armytage in the Reunion episode by showing off jewelry Matt gave her.
Olivia then showed off a gold necklace with a sunflower pendant, to which Sam quipped, “A necklace… I thought it might have been a ring.”
Farmer Matt then told the host that the gift was “a little in between.”
“I thought it was fitting to give Olivia a gift at the end of this whole experience,” he said.
“I feel very lucky,” Olivia added of her relationship with Matt.
In an interview with 7Life, Olivia opened up about how “many tears” shed after the reunion episode.
“We celebrated Mother’s Day together with our two families in Bookham, went horse riding, had dinner and watched the whole thing together,” she said, adding that there were “a lot of tears from different parties.”
“We’re having conversations about what the future holds and what the next steps are — looking at marriage and kids, and I think we both agree,” added Matt.
