UFC fans are speculating about Sean O’Malley’s next move after Dana White’s announcement of his 8-fight contract

Sean O’Malley has finally signed another 8-fight contract with the UFC and many are wondering what this could mean for the division as a whole. ‘Suger’ previously expressed frustration with the organization as the cover picture went into limbo, but recent developments could tease big future events.

Sean addressed his confusion regarding the bantamweight title picture, saying, “It would be perfect: Me versus Henry for the interim belt [at UFC 285], I wish they would. I wrote a text message [UFC Chief Business Officer] Hunter [Campbell]and I texted [UFC matchmaker] Sean Shelby. I said, ‘Will you at least give me an idea? Do you want to at least say yes or no? Will Henry vs. Aljo take place?’ They just don’t know.”
Now that he has an 8 fight, we can speculate on a few possibilities affecting the future of his division. First, despite his controversial win over Petr “No Mercy” Yan, the UFC is still confident in the former Ultimate Fighter Challenger’s star power. Second, the UFC can either give him the title or make him the goalkeeper of the title.
How did fans react to Sean O’Malley getting a new contract?
Fans didn’t take kindly to ‘Suger’s reaction after his super controversial win over Petr Yan. Not only did the 135lber play it off like he was always certain of his victory, but he also insulted some of the naysayers like UFC featherweight champion Bryce Mitchell. Many viewers didn’t like his actions after the win.
Despite all of that, there still seem to be some fans excited after the new contract with one letter: The bantamweight division will be the best division in the UFC. And Sean O’Malley is licking his lips because he knows he’s going to be the UFC’s biggest star. He’s the next Conor McGregor.
