UFC 269: Julianna Pena will tame GOAT Amanda Nunes, become a role model for all

Since losing to Cat Zingano seven years ago, Amanda Nunes has had an unprecedented run of beating the very best that the bantam and featherweight classes have to offer. In the process, she won both titles and beat the likes of Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg and Valentina Shevchenko (twice).
That’s why she’s definitely the greatest female MMA fighter of all time, so bringing her out will make it possible for someone to do just that. For Julianna Pena – who fights Nunes at UFC 269 on December 11, 2021 – this is the moment she’s been waiting for her whole life, saying she’s going to make her championship dreams come true. for others.
“Anytime you can take the GOAT out, it’s obviously just the feather on the lid there,” Pena said at a recent press conference (via MMA Junkie). “I am truly ready to step into the light to become the new bantamweight world champion. I’m ready to be that role model for young women, for men, just let them know from a tiny garage in Spokane, Washington, you can. You can make your dreams come true. I’m ready to step out into that light.”
Many people have made those claims before just to draw a nutshell. But Pena had said time and time again that most were defeated before they entered the cage with “Lionnes”. One thing she plans to do differently is to keep things simple and not let the big moment hit her.
“I’m excited, and I’m ready. Like you said, I’ve been working on this my entire career. … I totally try to normalize it. Keep it simple stupid. It’s just another fight at the end of the day,” she added. “If you get a belt at the end of the night, that’s cute. I don’t want to make it bigger than it is and let the media and all that concern me. I just need to focus on what I do and go to work.”
