Tyreek Hill was absolutely heartbroken to be leaving Kansas City

Six-time Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill was on ESPN’s First Take Monday morning. And the Miami Dolphins’ new wide receiver raised a lot of issues.
It was like always a very busy off-season in terms of player movement in the NFL. Yes, quarterback Russell Wilson’s move from Seattle to Denver made a lot of headlines. But arguably, the wide receiver’s position dominated the news week-to-week.
end of March, the Kansas City chiefs Wide receiver Tyreek Hill sent wide receiver Tyreek Hill to South Florida in April for first, second and fourth round picks and 2023 fourth and sixth round picks. And the six-time Pro Bowler signed a new four-year, $120 million deal with his new team (via Spotrac).
So what happened in Kansas City and why is he now a member of the Miami Dolphins?
Tyreek Hill didn’t want to separate the Chiefs before joining Dolphins
As Hill explains, it had more to do with that Davante Adams‘ new and massive deal with the Las Vegas Raiders and less about the overall wide receiver market (via Jordan foot from SI.com).
“I think it was just one of those situations where my agent Drew Rosenhaus, one of the best in the game, sees Davante Adams breaking the bank with the Raiders and he called me. He said, ‘Yo, Tyreek, we gotta get the Chiefs on the phone and shake something.’
“I told him, I was like, ‘Drew, I don’t want to unravel anything in particular … Let’s at least maybe not top it, but at least get close.’ The Chiefs were nowhere near the Davante-Adams deal, so it really all fell apart there.”

The bottom line here is that the Miami Dolphins finished with back-to-back winning seasons but failed to make the playoffs. In fact, the franchise hasn’t reached the postseason since 2016 and hasn’t conquered the AFC East since 2008. The Dolphins’ last playoff win came in 2000.
Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill has played six seasons in the NFL and has never been part of a team that didn’t make the postseason. And when he speaks these days, it’s certainly worth listening to.
