Chiefs, Tyreek Hill discuss contract extension

Regarding Hill’s recent contract extension, Rapoport mentions that it was how Hill earned all his money due to several off-field incidents. Now he could be one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league if they’re able to strike a deal.

Hill signed a three-year, $54 million deal in 2019. For the 2022 season, his last under his current contract, he’s looking at $20.7 million against the cap. He earns a base salary of $1.04 million and a $16.5 million roster bonus.

Last season, Hill recorded 111 receptions (a career-high) for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games. In Kansas City’s three playoff games, Hill hit 23 of 28 goals for 285 yards and three touchdowns.

The Chiefs and Hill are both discussing a new deal before the 2023 wideout hits free agency. It will be interesting to see what the numbers on his next deal will be if both sides agree to the terms.
