According to the authorities in Schleswig-Holstein, two people were killed and five injured in a knife attack on a regional train in northern Germany.
Schleswig-Holstein’s interior minister Sabine Sutterlin-Waack and a spokesman for the state’s federal police confirmed that there had been a knife attack with injuries.
A man attacked passengers with a knife just before 3pm local time before the train arrived at Brokstedt station on Wednesday, police said.

Police officers arrested the alleged attacker shortly afterwards in Brokstedt.
The motive was unclear.
The station was cordoned off by the police.
Brokstedt is a small community about 60 kilometers north of Hamburg in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The police are investigating at the train station in Brokstedt, Deutsche Bahn said on Twitter, adding that some connections between Hamburg and Kiel had been canceled.
