Twitter reacts to Russell Westbrook’s actions in battle with LeBron James

Sunday night featured some intense action on the basketball court when Los Angeles Lakers took on Detroit Pistons It turned out to be a really tough match. LeBron James was ejected after throw elbows to the Pistons big man, Isaiah Stewart, who looked like he wanted to fight the entire Lakers team.

It’s no surprise that Russell Westbrook has to make his presence felt in close quarters combat. His immediate reaction when Stewart tried to rush straight into LeBron was very much like typical Russell Westbrook and it made his bad roads Twitter into a frenzy:

Russ went into full hold mode as he stood up to anticipate Stewart’s attack. The Lakers point guard looked like he was ready to throw it down at that point so we’re all just glad things haven’t escalated since that point.

However, some trolls didn’t buy it, as they blatantly called Russ’s act of impersonating a hardliner:

Others noticed humor in Westbrook’s response as the Lakers guard projected his best fighting stance against an impending attack:

The good thing here is that Westbrook didn’t have to use his hands on this occasion. Those on the field did an excellent job of keeping Stewart back and the fight quickly de-escalated.

The Lakers got away with the win, 121-116.
