Kahlee Jacoby Hamler has made a name for herself at the highest level. The extremely talented and young wide receiver played college football at Penn State and eventually delivered several notable performances.
He was signed by the Broncos back in 2020 and the 23-year-old continues to play for the same franchise. Hamler has endured extremely tough times in his short career so far. So far, he’s only played 16 games from 6 starts and has been plagued by injuries.

“It’s been a very hard journey”: KJ Hamler
In addition, Hamler suffered a cruciate ligament tear and a dislocated hip during Week 3 of the Broncos season last year. On Monday, Hamler was finally able to return to the pitch after a year. After training, Hamler reflected on the difficult times he’s had so far. “It’s been a tough journey, to be honest. There was so much stuff I was dealing with that was being stacked on top of each other. At one point dealing only with the ACL and then something else with family situations. The love of my life died, my grandmother, that was the hardest part. That was on my back for a while.“
“I wish I had asked for help because at one point in my life it was — and I’m just going to be honest with you all because I’m more vulnerable and confident just saying it. At some point I didn’t want to be here. I didn’t want to be in this world. There was a point where I didn’t want to be heard anymore because I lost my grandma and that really hurt me,” he added.
The NFL star added that at the end of the day he’s very proud of himself, his grandmother would be proud of him and he’s grateful to the Almighty for standing by his side. “At the end of the day I talked more. I was in therapy. I signed up for therapy. I talk more to my boys, to my mum, to my dad and all the people who take care of me around here because I don’t have a family out here. I’m just trying my best to be a better version of myself,” he explained.
Twitteratis were happy to see the man share his journey and move forward in his life. Here are a few reactions:
