Twitter goes wild after Michael Chandler KOs Tony Ferguson

Michael Chandler is a mean man and fans found that out after beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 274.

Michael Chandler is showing UFC fans what Bellator fans have known for a decade, you really don’t want to be on the other side of a ring with this man. Many saw the Chandler fight with Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 as less than a good option for the legendary Ferguson. Still, the fight started in Ferguson’s favour.

The former interim champion dropped Chandler twice in the first round with some good punches, even injuring Chandler in the eye. The second round was anyone’s cup of tea as Chandler had the power to end the game, so he was never really out of a fight.

But nobody saw the end coming. As they circled each other, Chandler saw an opening and threw a front kick straight to the center and straight up and into the bottom of Ferguson’s face. The strike turned off Ferguson’s lights and left him sleeping in the Phantom Zone right next to Zod and Kermit The Frog.

Michael Chandler is far from done

Somehow, Chandler’s post-fight speech was way more energetic than anything we saw during the fight. Chandler made sure the world knew who he had his mind on next, and while he wanted another shot at Justin Gaethje, it was the Notorious, Conor McGregor, that Chandler called out.

Given the amount of power Chandler has, it’s absolutely a matchup the UFC wants. They may not be as good as they used to be, but a fight between Chandler and McGregor could be the kind of fight that puts both men back in contention for the world title.

The fact that Chandler wants it at welterweight is even more bizarre, but considering Ferguson was just KO’d in the most incredible KO of the year yet, why not end the night with something even more bizarre? Twitter goes wild after Michael Chandler KOs Tony Ferguson
