The 20th game of IPL 2022 played in between Royal family from Rajasthan and Lucknow Super Giants (RR vs. LSG) on April 10th i.e. Sunday. This is the second match of the double header. In that match, Captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first. First, the RR team batted 165 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and set LSG a target of 166 runs to win.

After losing the draw, the Rajasthan Royals, who batted first, started the innings in tonight’s game for a new opening pair, Devdutt Padikal coming on in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal Jos Butler today. Both players put down 42 runs for the first wicket to give the team a strong start, with Jos Buttler losing the first wicket on the last over of the power play as the Royals had no chance to recover.

Captain Sanju Samson’s wicket fell to the combined score of 60 runs, followed by a flurry of wickets for the Royals. The crucial wickets of Devdutt and Rasi van der Dussen were lost within just 7 runs. In such a situation, Rajasthan did not appear to be moving towards a great outcome. But Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin were seen going all out for the 5th wicket partnership in that innings. Both players combined for 68 runs, giving the Royals a run count of 165.

Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin saved Rajasthan’s honor by playing “tuktuk” innings against LSG. The explosive West Indies batsman continued his fine form, hitting his 3rd IPL fifty as Royal family from Rajasthan overall posted against Lucknow Super Giants. Ravi Ashwin was eliminated and returned in this match. He scored 28 carries in 23 balls with the help of 2 fours. In the end, Shimron Hetmyer started raining down fours and sixes. In that match, he had an unbeaten 59 carries in 36 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 1 four.

It is noteworthy that Shimron Hetmyer was dropped by Krunal Pandya when he was only 14 years old. Riyan Parag, batting in place of Ashwin, was sacked for 8 while Trent Boult went unbeaten in 2 runs. Devdutt Padikkal was the second-highest scorer for the Royals with 29 from 29 opening the innings.

For LSG, Krishnappa Gowtham and Jason Holder each took 2 wickets while Avesh Khan managed 1 wicket.
