The City of Troy The school announced that it had fired Chip Lindsey as head coach of its soccer team.
Defensive coordinator Brandon Hall was appointed as interim head coach.
“I appreciate the hard work of coach Lindsey over the past three years,” sporting director Brent Jones said in a statement. “However, after significant consideration, a change in leadership is needed. I met with Coach Lindsey this afternoon and informed him that we will be making the change effective immediately. Lindsey has scored 15-19 goals in his three seasons at Troy, including 5-6 this season. Prior to that, he was offensive coordinator at Auburn, Arizona State and Southern Miss.

Troy finished the regular season at Georgia State on Saturday.
