Former UFC welterweight division Mike Perry survived a knockdown in the fourth round on his Triad Combat debut and bounced back in the following rounds for the split decision against veteran boxer Michael Seals.
The score was 67-65 twice in Perry’s favor with a judge dissenting for the Seals to pass the same count. Perry’s victory raised the score to 14-3 in favor of MMA fighters led by former UFC champion Quinton Jackson beat boxer led by former boxing champion Shannon Briggs.
Perry’s aggression counterattacked at several points during round seven, 178-pound light heavyweight boxing, as he performed a spin and was closed in by short, sharp strikes from Seals, who hit a boxing record 25 -3 into bouts. A left hook brought Perry to the frame on the fourth round, and an upper cut on the sixth round sent him back.
Perry, however, took full advantage of the squeeze that the Triad’s rule set allowed, hanging Seals and bullying him before knocking him down with a barrage of punches. He also carries a premium fuel tank for combat, allowing him to dismantle in an all-out gunfight in the final seconds of the match.
Perry looked surprised when the two judges announced his name as the winner, but his surprise quickly turned to joy after he left the UFC earlier this year, setting a new chapter in his combat sports career. your fight at Triller.
