Trevor Story made history three times this May

Boston Red Sox second baseman Trevor Story is red hot, hitting eight homers in May, including a terrific performance Tuesday night against the White Sox.
story The month of May was badly needed by both him and Red Sox Nation as Chaim Bloom and the front office must have had buyer regrets sometime in late April.
The former Rocky shortstop wasn’t himself and certainly not a byproduct of Coors Field as his April numbers suggested. Eight home runs and 27 RBIs laterand Story is at the heart of Boston’s current roster, and some Boston fans are wondering if they even need Xander Bogaerts next offseason (we’re kidding, of course).
Story signed with Boston and volunteered to switch positions in the ultimate selfless move. If that wasn’t enough to make him a Sox fan favorite, May’s balancing act should do the trick.
Red Sox: Trevor Story made history 3 times this month
First we have to go back to the three home games on May 19 against the Seattle Mariners. Story broke out of his slump in historic fashion to become the Red Sox’s first second baseman to hit three home runs in a game since Dustin Pedroia more than a decade ago.
Talk about joining elite companies.
As for Story, a notorious streaky hitter, his latest streak is unique even to him. The Sox second baseman has eight home runs in his last 12 games — the most for Story in his entire 12-game career.
And it came when the 29-year-old needed it most.
Finally, Story has 17 RBIs in his last five games — they all win what it’s worth. That mark tied Alfonso Soriano for most in all five games since 2013.
So much for the return of the dead ball era. The story seems fine.
