Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has stated that he would rather speak Jordan Henderson’s accent than Andy Robertson’s after joking that ‘both are equally bad’.
The full-back was taking part in a ‘better friend’ session with Sky Sports and struggled to answer questions at first.
“Do you want to use Hendo or Robbo’s voice? Great,” Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports (via HITC).
“I would say Hendo’s. Only about. Both are equally bad for me.”
Both Henderson and Robertson have their own accent, which immediately makes it clear which part of the UK they are from.
Liverpool captain Henderson was born in Sunderland and played for the Black Cats until being brought back to Anfield by Kenny Dalglish in 2011, while Robbo was born in Glasgow and raised as a Celtic fan.
Both players have been an integral part of the success the Anfield side have enjoyed in recent years and are crucial to the way Jurgen Klopp wants his team to play.
Aggression is one of our No 26’s key characteristics, even if he showed too much at the weekend against Spurs – the full-back was sent off in a late challenge with Emerson Royal in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Throughout the interview, it was good to see how comfortable Trent was answering some tough questions, including whether he wanted to play with Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher.
