The new Starz series redefines what it means to be a ghostwriter.
After the fifth “Scream” movie, Courteney Cox is returning to the small screen to play another struggling writer, but this time, she’s teaming up with a ghostly presence for a better-selling romance novel.
Horror drama”Shining ValePremiering on Sunday, March 6, on Starz with two consecutive episodes. The series follows Pat (Cox) as she tries to finish a novel on time after moving with her family to Shining Vale, Connecticut. The only problem? Her husband Terry (Greg Kinnear) seems aloof, her kids (Gus Birney and Dylan Gage) hate it, and the new mansion doesn’t. sure haunted by the seductive ghost, Rosemary (Mira Sorvino).
Created by Jeff Astrof (“Trial & Error”) and Sharon Horgan (“Divorce”), “Shining Vale” stars Merrin Dungey, Judith Light, and Sherilyn Fenn.
When the ax-wielding Pat calls “The Shining,” it sounds like the dead ’50s housewife Rosemary may be trying to take over her body. The duo started writing together, partying together, and… maybe even killing people together? There must be easier ways to limit the blocking of writers, right?
“Everybody has their demons, but for Pat Phelps, they can be real,” the series’ diary reads. And of course, only Pat sensed another presence in the house that was apparently the site of the triple suicide decades ago.
“’Shining Vale’ is a smart, cool, and humorous series that tells the story of a tumultuous family suddenly living with a paranormal who helps bring Courteney Cox’s character back to life when she started questioning her sanity,” Starz said in statement. “This talented group of actors, producers, and directors combine humor and horror brilliantly throughout this series, testament to the network’s commitment to improving the representation of women. the world on and off the screen.”
Cox previously shared a behind-the-scenes look Videos on Instagram while filming “Shining Vale” in August 2021.
“We’re in phase five, right on our side,” Cox told fans, citing the moment turning 25 years later. “This is where “Friends” started in 1994, and is currently occupied by a show called “Shining Vale”, starring me.”
