Lady Whistledown proves the pen is stronger than the sword.
“Dearest gentle readers, do you miss me?”
After Lady Whistledown’s identity seems to be revealed, the gossip mastermind returns to report on the love lives of 19th-century elites. Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) promises to sharpen her “knife.” to all his readers, while Bridgerton’s eldest son, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) sets out in search of a soul mate. Latest actors Kate (Simone Ashley) and her sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) arrive from India just in time to catch Anthony’s eye.
During this season, as Anthony begins to flirt with Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions – as a true love affair is not on his priority list – and decides to do whatever it takes. everything in their power to prevent them from coming together. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal exchanges only bring them closer, complicating matters for both sides.
Creator Chris Van Dusen previously told IndieWire that the new couple is “a force to be reckoned with: magnetic, you can’t take your eyes off them when they’re together.”
Van Dusen added, “We’ve got some of the best fun times coming up with thirsty moments. We thought about how to make it relevant today, and how this glamorous escapist world has become a running modern commentary for the past 20 years. Things have changed and nothing has changed for women and men.”
Lead star Bailey emphasized that Season 2 will focus on “women’s gaze”.
“There’s a lot of people going,” Oh yeah, Bonkerton,” Bailey told Weekly entertainment. “But a woman’s gaze is important because there are many ways people communicate sexually, and what sex means, and what your body means to other people. It’s important to have the reverse of the sexes and how people are taken advantage of in the storytelling of sex. “
Couglan notes, “It goes back in time and says, ‘What did they want and want?’ They are not one-sided people who only do needlework. They had real lives and wants, needs, and feelings. “
Well, we won’t have to wait much longer to go back in time again. From duels to long baths, sisterly rivalry to chic wear, “Bridgerton” is officially back.
