Tower of Fantasy Beginner’s Guide, Tips and Tricks

tower of fantasy is a new open world MMORPG now available for PC, iOS and Android devices. Seen as a direct competitor of Genshin Impact, it also uses a gacha-based system to unlock unique combat abilities. There’s also a huge exploration aspect to it, so you’ll want to send your character in search of chests, solving puzzles, and destroying enemy strongholds.

Our tower of fantasy Beginner’s Guide offers tips and tricks that the game doesn’t really say explicitly that can help in the early game.

There is a daily level cap

Clean every day tower of fantasy, you can only advance so far before you hit a wall. On the first day you can reach level 18, on the second day you can reach level 24 and so on. The levels match the chapters in your Wanderer’s Log, so you can check this to see how close you are to the next capping point.

However, once the daily reset time has passed, you can proceed. There was very little content in the game until we hit around level 20, so be aware that the first day could be a bit boring.

The server’s daily reset time is at 5:00 AM EDT

Things like the login bonus, daily rewards, and other daily tasks reset at 5 PM EDT. If you hit a wall (as mentioned above), wait for the reset time to pass. After that, you can do more dailys and continue leveling.

Simulcra are essentially skins, so play however you want

When you use the in-game gacha system to unlock weapons and characters, you’ll find that you don’t add the characters to your party the way you do Genshin Impact or other mobile games. Instead, you can activate the simulacrum to use that character as an avatar if you want, but it doesn’t make any statistical difference and it’s all cosmetic.

Later, when you give gifts to the characters, you can also unlock a “Simulacrum Trait” that you can toggle, which grants you different buffs depending on the character.

Remember to use your mount

It’s easy to forget to climb up and drive around while exploring as you spend so much time gliding and climbing. Riding your mount is significantly faster than sprinting, so make use of your mounts when exploring.

Triangular and rectangular chests will respawn, but spherical ones will not

There are many different types of chests in Tower of Fantasy. The spherical ones will reward you with Gacha currency (Gold and Black Nucleus), and the triangular and rectangular ones will reward base materials for upgrading items or crafting food, as well as EXP.

The spherical chests are obviously more important as they also reward Dark Crystals, the game’s premium currency.

Refine the cliffs by double jumping while climbing

If you’re having trouble climbing a large cliff, you can basically climb it infinitely without worrying much about stamina by letting go of the cliff, double jumping, and then climbing the cliff again. Your double jump should give you quite a bit of air, allowing you to cheat the stamina system quite a bit.

Use your map to find more Nucleus and Chests

When you are near a puzzle that rewards a black core or chest, icons will appear on your mini-map near you. The spherical chests will be marked with a sphere (of course) and the Black Nucleus puzzles will be marked with a diamond shape. These puzzles typically require you to use fire-like abilities on nearby objects, relics to knock down walls, or other similar quick interactions.

Learn your weapon combos from the Armory menu

From the Weapons menu, click Warehouse, select your weapon of choice, then select the magnifying glass below the weapon’s image to see all of its different abilities. Each weapon has different air and long press abilities, so be sure to figure out how to make the most of your weapon stash.
