Tour-only Black Titleist iron spotted at RSM Classic 2021
We spotted the black versions of the Titleist T100, 620 MB and 620 CB irons at RSM Classic.

It’s not uncommon for professional golfers – especially those on the PGA Tour – to use custom clubs that are slightly different from those available at retail.
Professional golfers have precise preferences, so golf manufacturers will do whatever it takes to deliver exactly what golfers want and need to play their best. Some adjustments are simple cosmetic tweaks, while others can be full-blown structural changes.
Just last month, for example, GOLF.com discovered two tables are different Titleist archetypes specially built for Justin Thomas and Adam Scott.

Switch to the 2021 RSM Classic, and we discovered another batch of custom Titleist irons in the bag of Callum Tarren, a Titleist employee.
Tarren is using a set of mixed irons, including a black version of Titleist’s 620 MB, 620 CB and Iron T100, which differs from the chrome-plated look of the retail versions.
However, this is not the first time Titleist has blackened irons. After the company’s previous version of the T-series iron hit the market in 2019, Titleist released a black version of the iron in August 2020. Looks like Titleist is back at it again using a black PVD finish on these tour-only 2021 irons.
As Titleist has a history of releasing black versions of irons to the market following the retail release of its chrome irons, it is possible that Tarren black irons will hit the market. For now, however, Titleist says Tarren is bagging the irons “for travel only.”
