The money in the bank Ladder Match is one of the most unique concepts in the history of the wrestling industry. In the MITB ladder match, a wrestler’s ability to take the audacity and endure pain is demonstrated. Winning a Money in the Bank event is equivalent to winning a Royal Rumble event as it also secures the wrestler a championship match anywhere, anytime in WWE. Many Superstars have participated in the competition multiple times but have not been able to win it. Ladder matches have always been exciting and interesting in WWE as we see some mind-blowing stunts and incredible athleticism from the wrestlers.
There have been twenty-five MITB ranked matches since the first match in 2005. This year’s Money in the Bank live event will take place on July 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Men participating in this year’s ladder match include Seth Rollins, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Omos, Madcap Moss, Riddle and Sami Zayn. The wrestlers in this year’s MITB Ladder Match are Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Shotzi and Becky Lynch.

2019 Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The 2019 MITB Ladders Match featured contestants such as Mustafa Ali, Andrade, Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Randy Orton and Ricochet. Sami Zayn had also earned a place in the contest, but was attacked before the start and was unable to take part. As the men began fighting for the briefcase by dragging each other down, Ali almost retrieved the briefcase when a returning Brock Lesnar surprised the crowd and knocked Ali out. Lesnar was the 8th contestant to replace Zayn and he won the match.
2017 Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The 2017 event featured AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura. The match consisted mostly of novices and a few athletic superstars. Corbin had attacked Nakamura during his entry, edging him out for most of the match, but Shinsuke returned in the end and battled Styles. The match had its bright spots and lasted a total of almost 30 minutes. As Styles and Nakamura struggled at the top of the ladder, Corbin pushed them and retrieved the briefcase.
2010 Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The 2010 event was the first MITB live event and had wrestlers Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Kane, Matt Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes and Christian competing for the MITB contract. The smaller competitors worked hard to take down the larger opponents, but Kane and Big Show fought back with some vicious attacks of their own. The following night, Kane defeated Rey Mysterio by cashing in the contract to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Mysterio had just defended his world heavyweight title against Jack Swagger that night.
2007 MITB Ladder Match at WrestleMania 23
Wrestlers Jeff Hardy, Edge, Matt Hardy, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Mr. Kennedy, King Booker and Finlay put on a great show in one of the best ladder matches in WWE history. There were several stunning moments where Randy delivered an insane RKO to Orton, nearly destroyed Jeff Hardy Edge with a fantastic jump off the top of the ladder, and Booker T planted a stunning bookend off a ladder on Orton. Mr. Kennedy won the match by throwing CM Punk off the ladder with a ladder.
2005 MITB Ladder Match at WrestleMania 21
This was the first ever Money in the Bank ladder match, featuring a number of well-known and experienced wrestlers who were all experienced players of a ladder match. This match turned out to be a great success. Chris Jericho, Kane, Chris Benoit, Edge, Shelton Benjamin and Christian were the first six men to compete in the MITB ladder game. The contest featured incredible agility as well as some frightening bumps. However, “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit was about to grab the briefcase when TheEdge hit him with a chair shot. Edge became the first Mr. Money at the bank after finding the money in the bank’s briefcase.
