Top 10 games to watch, including Round 2 of Kansas-Baylor

The regular season is coming to an end, and must-see games will be scattered across this week’s college basketball schedule, including Baylor-Kansas Round 2.

We hit a major milestone this weekend in college basketball season NCAA Tournament Top 16 Seeds Revealed landed on Saturday afternoon. That’s big news revealed a lot about what the frame might look like on Sunday’s Pick and raise the bets for the bubble teams as they try to make sure they’re in field 68.

With just two weeks to go before regular season kicks in, every game on the college basketball schedule counts, but these ten are the most exciting of the week. Let’s start with a trip to the Big East on Tuesday as Villanova looks to be one step closer to claiming the Top-2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Villanova at UCONN – Tuesday, February 22 at 8pm ET on FS1

The Wildcats are having a two-winner week that has helped put them in the helm to claim at least part of the Big East’s regular season title, but this matchup means more to UCONN. There is a general sense of disappointment as Dan Hurley’s side have failed to live up to pre-season expectations but the win over Villanova could signal that the Huskies have a deep March in them.

LSU in Kentucky – Wednesday, February 23 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN

This big SEC showdown is a barometer for LSU, which started the season in hopes of competing for the regular-season title but hasn’t looked the same since being beaten by Auburn in early January. Kentucky just missed a No. 1 seed on the Top 16 seed list and will be looking for a quality win here to try to secure a spot in Kansas in the eyes of the selectors.

Gonzaga in San Francisco – Thursday, Feb. 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2

This is the kind of game that makes late February so exciting in college basketball when an NCAA Tournament course kicks off in a conference game to take on a bubble team in need of a race win. Gonzaga has a lead over Arizona and Auburn for the overall top seed so they can win here while San Francisco can basically take the jump ticket by knocking down the Bulldogs.

Ohio State in Illinois – Thursday, Feb. 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET on FS1

The clicker will come in handy Thursday night when it goes head to head with the Gonzaga-San Francisco competition on FS1. Ohio State is only slightly behind the Big Ten elite teams but will prove they are a dangerous threat in March Madness by taking down a fully loaded Illinois team that is the final Round 4 contender.

Belmont at Murray State – Thursday, Feb. 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU

It’s rare for the Ohio Valley Conference game to come to the fore, but this one features two stellar teams from the NCAA Tournament. Murray State has entered the polls on the strength of a 16-game winning streak and should have jumped in while Belmont could make a big move on the bubble by securing a win this way.

UCLA in Oregon – Thursday, Feb. 24 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

This all-important Thursday late window features another marquee game in the Pac-12 as UCLA will seek revenge for its loss to Oregon in Eugene. The Ducks are a quality team right above the bubble thanks to some disastrous losses and really need this win after squandering their chance to take out Arizona last weekend in an 84-81 loss in extra time.

Purdue in Michigan State – Saturday, February 26 at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN

The team’s team will be one step closer to securing the Big Ten’s regular-season title by going down the road of trying to beat a desperate Michigan State team. Tom Izzo’s Spartans have been trending in the wrong direction for a couple of weeks and can really use confidence to beat a Top 10 opponent ahead of the Big Ten Tournament.

Kentucky in Arkansas – Saturday, February 26 at 2 p.m. ET on CBS

CBS has a tournament three over both next weekend but its best game comes in midfield Saturday afternoon as Kentucky hit the road to take on the hot Razorbacks, who won 11 of 12 games. their past. Arkansas has proved particularly dangerous at home, having scored multiple times against Auburn and Tennessee at the Bud Walton Arena over the past few weeks.

Auburn at Tennessee – Saturday, February 26 at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN

Saturday will be a big day in the SEC as Auburn hits the road again to take on Tennessee. The Tigers struggled late on, losing to Arkansas and Florida, while Tennessee enjoyed a home-field advantage to a big win over Kentucky last week.

Kansas at Baylor – Saturday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN

The best game of the week will be on Saturday at Waco when the Bears welcome the Jayhawks to town with a potential No. Kansas broke into Baylor at Allen Fieldhouse a few weeks ago, and the Bears are keen to return the favor in this all-important Big 12 showdown.
