Tommy Fury reveals reason for withdrawing from fight with Jake Paul

Jake Paul is no longer expected to face Tommy Fury on December 18. That fight has promised to give Paul his toughest test yet in a traumatic bout. Fury went into that bout with a 7-0 professional record. All of Paul’s other opponents have a 0-0 aggregate record against ‘The Problem Child’.

However, Paul’s new opponent also has a professional record – albeit 0-1. Tyron Woodley announced late to have a rematch with Paul, who beat him by split decision in the summer.

Fury has now broken his silence on the exact cause of his big payday compared to Paul spent. His team released a statement to Ariel Helwani, where he revealed a broken rib was the culprit.

“It is heartbreaking for me to be forced to withdraw from the fight with Jake Paul due to a chest infection and broken ribs,” read the statement. “The start of my camp has been incredible and I never expected anything to come my way from winning on December 18. I cannot express my disappointment. and I really hope we can move this game back to the new year, I want this fight to go on more than anything. Right now I regret focusing on recovering and rescheduling another day.”

One person who didn’t buy Fury’s explanation was Paul, who provoked Fury online and thinks his previously scheduled opponent may have missed a good opportunity.

Woodley will be glad he gets the chance to avenge his loss to Paul. The former UFC welterweight champion has been campaigning for a rematch since the final bell rang in their first bout.

Woodley also attempted to hold a side bet with the humiliation tattoo promised to Paul until he secured a rematch. Woodley eventually moved and received the words “I love Jake Paul” on his finger.

Don’t know if there will be any kind of humiliating bet this time. However, we do know that Woodley has a $500,000 bonus ready for him if he defeats Paul. Tommy Fury reveals reason for withdrawing from fight with Jake Paul
