Ahead of the Week 3 matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady praised the “amazing” Aaron Rodgers.
One of the biggest games of week 3 is this Tampa Bay Buccaneers Acquisition of Green Bay packers. This marks the first time the two teams have met since the 2020 NFC Championship Game when the Buccaneers held on to Super Bowl 55, which they won in convincing fashion. This game is a must-play as it could be the last time quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers face each other.
Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game, Brady Rodgers, who he called “an amazing player,” commended that he loves watching him play. You can listen to Brady’s full comments in Greg Auman’s tweet from The Athletic below.
Tom Brady calls Aaron Rodgers a ‘great player’
This is the fifth time both Rodgers and Brady have faced each other on an NFL field. Of the last four times, Brady has won three of them, with the most notable being the aforementioned NFC title game, where they withstood a Packers comeback attempt and won 31-26.
This meeting between the two will be interesting. While Rodgers has won the NFL MVP award for the past two seasons, with the subtraction of Davante Adams and the addition of rookies Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure, he has a completely different wide receiver corps.
Meanwhile, Brady is without star wide receiver Mike Evans, who was suspended for shoving New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore in their Week 2 meeting. Not only that, wide receivers Chris Godwin and Julio Jones didn’t practice leading up to Week 3.
This could be the last time Rodgers and Brady face each other in a head-to-head match. Brady returned from his month-long retirement this offseason, while Rodgers has been open about a possible retirement. So it can definitely be worth it
