Tom Aspinall earns biggest win of his career at UFC London

Tom Aspinall clinched the biggest win of his career with a first-round finish at UFC London.

Tom Aspinall looks cool, calm and charismatic as he walks onto the octagonal court at UFC London. He followed it up by putting on a world-class performance against Alexander Volkov in his first main event in the UFC.

Aspinall showed off his boxing skills in the first seconds against Volkov. His movements, which at times looked like those of a middleweight, were overwhelming and seemed to confuse Volkov.

But Aspinall closed the show using his grappling. After getting over a Volkov punch, he got a massive knockdown and sank in a nasty arm lock to end the match in Round 1.

Check out Aspinall’s first round finish below.

After the win, Aspinall called third-place contender Tai Tuivasa for his next UFC test.

Tom Aspinall enters UFC heavyweight title competition

Aspinall was crowned UFC London champion after a streak of 7 wins. After making the move from Cage Warriors to UFC in 2020, he’s outmatched such a former heavyweight champion. Andrei Arlovski and Sergey Spivak.

Volkov has won three of his last four fights heading into the latest UFC main event of his career. After finishing Walt Harris and Alistair Overeemhe suffered a unanimous decision defeat to interim champion Ciryl Gane before returning with a win over Marcin Tybura at UFC 267.

Volkov has also won fierce knockouts against the likes of the former champion Fabricio Werdum and Stefan Struve.

Victory over Volkov puts Aspinall into the heavyweight list after a successful debut in 2022.
