‘Ticket to Paradise’, ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Battle at the UK Box Office

Universal’s ‘Ticket to Paradise’ starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney and Warner Bros.’ Starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles and Chris Pine, Don’t Worry Darling battled it out at the UK and Ireland box offices, with the former narrowly winning.

Ticket to Paradise raked in £2.8m (US$3.03m) to top the box office, beating out Don’t Worry Darling, which grossed £2.7m (US$2.99m). -dollars) to second place, according to numbers released by Comscore.

Disney’s Avatar re-release took third place at £1.2million. After two weeks at the top of the box office, Disney’s See How They Run fell to fourth place in its third weekend at £473,222 for a total of £3.6m.

Rounding out the top five was Universal’s David Bowie documentary ‘Moonage Daydream’, which grossed £375,399 in its second weekend for a total of £676,185.

Paramount’s Tom Cruise vehicle Top Gun: Maverick finished 10th in its 18th weekend at £139,461 for a total of £82.8m, easily the highest-grossing film of the year in the field so far.

The Halloween release is horror “Smile,” which Paramount opens midweek on September 28 in around 300 locations.

On September 30, Universal releases “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, starring Lesley Manville, Isabelle Huppert and Lucas Bravo.

AppleTV+ gives a limited theatrical release to Peter Farrelly’s The Greatest Beer Run Ever, starring Zac Efron, Russell Crowe and Bill Murray, while Curzon opens Peter Strickland’s Berlin player Flux Gourmet.

Vertigo Releasing opens Finnish coming-of-age film Girls Girls Girls and Studio Soho Distribution bows to lockdown drama A Bird Flew In. Anime Ltd publishes the Bucheon award-winning and Venice-nominated anime Inu-oh.
