Thor: Love and Thunder: Taika Waititi Calls Out Trailer Auto Captions

“This film is going to be a wild ride for the hearing impaired,” Waititi tweeted.

Not even Taika Waititi could write such unintentionally hilarious dialogue.

The Thor: Love and Thunder writer/director, who wrote the MCU script with co-writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, took to Twitter to joke about the messed-up auto captions for the new trailer, which premieres May 23 has been published. The film will premiere in cinemas on July 8th.

“Lol, if the robots are planning to take over the world, they need to learn different accents,” said Oscar winner Waititi wrote. “Well done @Twitter technology!”

The Thor: Ragnarok filmmaker took screenshots of a series of stills from the Love and Thunder trailer to capture just how outrageous the auto-generated subtitles were. Christian Bale as villain Gorr the God Butcher says “Oh god die well” while Thor (Chris Hemsworth) assures Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) that he understands her “from my feelings”.

“This movie is going to be a wild ride for the hearing impaired,” Waititi tweeted, along with a screenshot of the dialogue, which read, “Sure we’ll help them and eventually grapes.”

The Boys actor Anthony Starr responded with crying, laughing emojis, while fans responded with grape-related memes.

Thor: Love and Thunder picks up after the fall of Asgard and the events of Avengers: Endgame, in which Thor (Hemsworth) attempts to find inner peace but is prevented from doing so by the threat of Gorr (Bale). to wipe out the gods. Thor enlists the help of Korg (voiced by Waititi) and Valkyrie (Thompson) in his mission.

The Team of Gods also works with the Guardians of the Galaxy, which includes fan favorite Rocket Raccoon, voiced by Bradley Cooper, as well as Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel (voiced by Groot) and Karen Gillan, which they repeat roles.

Calling the film “the craziest thing I’ve ever done,” Waititi added, “I definitely feel like we put everything — every idea and every single ridiculous concept, gag, stunt or character — into this film to have. I couldn’t be happier with it.”

The Marvel film is produced by Kevin Feige with executive producers Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito and Todd Hallowell. Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters July 8 as part of the fourth phase of the MCU rollout.
