Here’s what the Seattle Seahawks get for trading Russell Wilson for the Denver Broncos.
The big deal comes after Aaron Rodgers announced that he would be returning to the Green Bay Packers. Denver ran to land Rodgers if he wanted to be traded out of town. The Brass Broncos acted quickly by landing another Pro Football Hall of Fame future midfielder who voted first in Wilson. While Denver is currently an AFC candidate, Seattle is completely rebuilding.
Below are the full transaction details between the Broncos and the Seahawks.
Russell Wilson transaction details: What do Seahawks get from Broncos?
Denver is taking Wilson and the fourth pick in this deal with the Seahawks. Seattle will receive two first-round picks (9th overall in 2022 and Denver’s in 2023), two second-round picks, fifth-round picks, winger Drew Lock, defensive midfielder Shelby Harris and tight finisher Noah Fant.
Seattle has no first pick in 2022 NFL Drafts after trading for safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets. The Seahawks were one of the worst teams at NFC a year ago and didn’t have a top 10 pick of their own. While Lock may be on track for success as a starter right now, one can expect the Seahawks to go after a quarterback in the upcoming draft.
For Denver, Broncos Go From A Non-Playoff Team To Possible Super Bowl candidate in the AFC West. The division has four outstanding quarterbacks including Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, Derek Carr in Las Vegas, Justin Herbert in Los Angeles and now Wilson in Denver. There is no guarantee that Kansas City will win when the Broncos have Wilson.
With this blockbuster deal, the upper shell of the AFC becomes a lot more interesting.
