This is how the Sneak Attack skill works in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
The Sneak Attack skill is one of the many Equipment Skill options you can select in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. It might not suit every player’s style, but it might be something you want to add to your gear. However, before you think about adding it, let’s discuss how the skill works and what it can do for you. This guide contains everything you need to know about the Sneak Attack skill and how it works in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
What does Sneak Attack do in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak?
With the Sneak Attack skill, your character deals increased damage to any large monster he hits from behind. You should make sure you get the most out of this ability by positioning your character behind the creature and mainly focusing on cutting off the tail or slapping its back. If you’re someone who prefers to keep your distance from an enemy, or fly through the air as an Insect Glaive player, you might want to consider grabbing Sneak Attack.

Currently, this skill is only available through the Luminous Narga Armor, specifically the Armor Breastplate, Luminous Hauberk, Leggings, Luminous Sash, and Luminous Leggings. Each piece of armor gives you a rank. You can go up to three ranks with this skill, although you might want to stop only carrying two of them.
Here’s a full breakdown of the Sneak Attack skill at each level.
- Level 1: While active, attack power increases by 5%
- Level 2: While active, attack power increases by 10%
- Level 3: While active, attack power increases by 12%
Since you only get a 2% increase from level two to three, we recommend sticking with two and using that in your build. The extra bump from wearing all three pieces from the set may not be what you want in your build and you can probably find better options. You must take on the Lucent Nargacuga to add this armor to your collection.
