Tyrese and Lily have been seen off at funerals for the past two days.
On Friday, hundreds of mourners gathered at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in the hamlet of Tahmoor for Lily’s funeral.
Lily’s father, John Van De Putte, spoke of her kind ways, including taking blankets from home to give to the less fortunate, giving food to those in need, and even helping a little boy with no money on Father’s Day to get a gift for his dad to buy.
“Not only was she beautiful, she had a beautiful heart,” he said.
Mr Van De Putte, speaking to mourners from a wheelchair, also recalled his daughter’s wicked sense of humor and recalled when Lily placed his chair in the neutral position so he had nowhere to go.
The crash has devastated the community in County Wollondilly, southwest of Sydney.
In-person learning at Picton High School was replaced with online classes until Monday to allow students to attend the funerals.
The victim is commemorated with balloon and streamer tributes in the area, with a different color dedicated to each teenager.
A mayoral relief fund was also set up to provide financial support to the victims’ families.
The 18-year-old driver of the Ute, Tyrell Edwards, is in custody after being tried on five counts of dangerous driving resulting in death last Thursday.
