Chris Broussard was more than pleased with the Boston Celtics’ Game 2 win over the Miami Heat. He even said it’s the Celtics who can beat themselves as Miami can’t, especially with the efficiency of all the players at both ends of the court.
The team’s overall performance and the resurgence of the “Boston Celtics trio” made Game 2 a treat for the away fans. Although the game was played in the FTX Arena, it was the “Green Army” that made more noise as their team dominated the action in the game. Analysts and writers have been divided on the possible winner of the series, but Chris Broussard now looks happy and firm in his prediction – he will support the fledgling Celtics team in the Euro finals.
Broussard, controlling his joy at the result, said of Boston that they were simply better offensively and defensively. He confirmed his “Celtics in 6” prediction, which gives Miami a chance in another game during the series.
Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics part ways with Heat in Euro finals
Just before the All-Star Game, there were doubts about the young core of the Celtics, who have been together for several seasons and were unable to exit the conference to contend for the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Many suggested making changes to the roster itself to give them a legitimate chance in the postseason as they struggled to make the playoffs during that period.
But one of the most successful franchises in the NBA trusted its players, and they raced to 2nd position East, defensively knocking out opponents. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were effective offensively and even helped their team defensively. Also in the postseason, the Celtics squared off against two of the big teams from the East – heavy favorites Brooklyn Nets and defending champions Milwaukee Bucks.

But delivering a killer punch to the Nets and winning hard-fought 7-game streaks against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks suddenly made them one of the favorites for the title. Broussard feuded with top seed Miami Heat and assisted the Boston Celtics to win the Eastern Conference trophy and advance to the NBA Finals.
The Celtics’ win in Game 2 made the picture a bit clearer for people as they controlled the game from the 1st quarter. Chris made his views on the series clear in the post-game analysis when he said: “Celtics are going to win this series, they are better on paper, the talent at the top is getting in the way of Boston. They are better offensively, better defensively, better by eye test.”
He compared the player’s draft picks on both teams, noting that Boston had edged out Miami in that department. Chris further predicted this could be the easiest series for the Celtics, who defeated KD-Kyrie in Round 1 and Giannis-Jrue in Round 2 and now face only one challenge from Jimmy Butler – the only threat from the heat team.
Statistically, the Celtics had a 2-1 record in the regular season series in 2022 against Miami. They are a younger team in age and have some of the top picks on the team. The Celtics also had the best defensive record in the NBA this regular season, while also ranking above Miami on offense.
The next game will be played at the TD Garden on Saturday night and supercharged Celtics fans can motivate the team to take a healthy lead in the series. It will be a great opportunity for Boston to avenge their 2020 Conference Finals loss if they continue to dictate the series like they did in Game 2.
