The Golden State Warriors are considered one of the best teams in the NBA, but there have been a few seasons where they haven’t been that great.
The Golden State Warriors are known for having some of the NBA’s most legendary players like Stephen Curry and Wilt Chamberlain. The team is known for being one of the most dominant in the league, but like any successful team, they’ve had their fair share of bad seasons.
When were the worst seasons for the Golden State Warriors?
The worst season the Warriors have ever experienced may have been the 2019-20 season. The Warriors have only 15 wins this season, which is the second-lowest total in franchise history, despite it being the pandemic-interrupted season so they only played 65 games.
They found themselves in a difficult position after losing Stephen Curry to injury and ended up bottom in the Western Conference. The worst season by overall wins was the 1952-53 season when the franchise was still based in Philadelphia. The Warriors won 12 games this season. Unfortunately, this record can only be broken if other teams do even worse.
They also faced a tough 2000-01 season with only 17 wins. This was only marginally better than their worst season to date, and they ended their season on a 13-game losing streak. During that season, their longest winning streak was two games, but they usually only won one game before losing a few more.
The Warriors have since recovered from those seasons and are currently third-best in the Western Conference with 50 wins so far this season. Despite being a great team, the Warriors have shown that they face tough seasons from time to time.
