Amid the UK’s cost of living crisis, a new initiative has been launched by pubs to offer workers the opportunity to work from the pub instead of working from home.
Hundreds of pubs across the UK are now offering free electricity, wifi and food deals to attract customers who don’t want to return to the office but are bored from working from home or concerned about energy bills.

Pubs in the national Young chain offer workers an all-day pub opportunity from $26, unlimited tea and coffee, and a set lunch menu as part of the Work and Play program. There is also an option to have an alcoholic drink at the end of the day.
More than 180 pubs in the Young chain have already rolled out the WFP initiative, which comes amid the UK’s cost of living crisis as rising energy bills worry those working from home.
Other pub chains across the country are also launching special offers aimed at luring in customers worried about how much working from home will actually cost or wanting a change of scenery.
“Each participating pub runs throughout the week and is fully equipped with free WiFi, charging stations, quiet zones and, most importantly, unlimited tea and coffee,” said a spokesman for the pub chain.
“Say goodbye to packed lunches and desk grub and opt for delicious seasonal breakfasts, brunches and lunches.”
