The Way One Word Explains Trae Young’s Bow, John Collins T-shirt And The Hawks Won’t Back Down – The Athletic

Words, actions, and t-shirts have consequences and John Collins may soon get what’s coming his way because of his.
This weekend Atlanta Hawks have to face up with 76ers in Philadelphia for the first time since Game 7, or more specifically this discussion, as Collins wears that shirt depicting his acrobatics Joel Embiid, to the post-game press conference after the Hawks stunned the Sixers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
It’s the pinnacle of bragging, moxy, ego. Or as kids today call it “swag.”
“Yes, I would say (it was the swag),” Collins told me. “A lot of people ask me why do I do this? Joel caught me. Right in this arena, he drowned me so badly, he caught me. And he shimmered in front of me and he pushed me after he immersed himself in me. And I took advantage of that as personally as one can, and I swore to him and to myself, I said ‘I’ll get your ass back.’ I told him like, ‘I’ll get your ass back.’ I didn’t rush the process when it happened. I just know one of these days, I’m coming, I’m coming for your head. That’s how you’ll act when you get your hands on me, I’ll do something.
“It was the perfect timing, the way it (was) done and not to say I’m happy, but I’m satisfied.”
